Collection consists of both photographs and documents kept and/or gathered by various individuals associated with the Home, including Elizabeth Whitehead Taylor and Augusta B. Spencer. Most of the collection are photographs (persons unidentfied) taken at special events at the Home --Silver Tea and the Garden party. Earliest records were lost during the Civil War, however, the existing minute books provide great insight into charitable organizations run by women. Collection includes numberous newspaper clippings from the 19th-20th century. Of interest is a newspaper clipping from the Ladies Benevolent Society to the Ku Klux Klan thanking them for their contribution of wood and coal to the ladies of the Home.
